For the sixth time, Allmänna Sången and Anders Wall, in collaboration with Gehrmans Musikförlag AB, proudly present the Allmänna Sången & Anders Wall Composition Award, an international competition exclusively for women composers. The winner will receive a prize of SEK 50,000, and the winning composition will be premiered by Allmänna Sången and published by Gehrmans Musikförlag AB.

This competition is open to women composers of all nationalities and professional backgrounds. All submissions will be evaluated by a distinguished international jury.

Rules
Only women composers are eligible to participate in the competition. Submitted compositions must be original and must not have been previously published or performed. Composers are free to choose the lyrics for their piece, which should resonate with contemporary themes. If using pre-existing texts, it is the composer’s responsibility to obtain written permission for their use. This documentation must be included with the competition entry. Lyrics may be in any language. However, if the chosen language is other than English, Swedish, or Latin, a pronunciation guide must accompany the submission. The guide should preferably use the International Phonetic
Alphabet (IPA).

Registration

The registration for ASAWCA 2027 will open 8 of March 2026.

 

All submissions received between March 8 and December 31, 2026, will be anonymously judged by our jury in order to select a winner.
