The entries for the Allmänna Sången and Anders Wall Composition Award are always reviewed by a reputable international jury. As a part of the competition's purpose of highlighting composers from all around the world, different acclaimed musicians have been invited to evaluate the competition entries throughout the years.

The members of the jury

The jury is always composed of four members, two of them being permanently assigned to the choir Allmänna Sången. Since the start, these two permanent members have been Robert Sund, composer and conductor of Allmänna Sången between 1970 and 1988, and Maria Goundorina, the choir's current conductor. ​Apart from the permanent jury members, two seats are reserved for acclaimed guest members, often internationally renowned composers or musicians.

Upcoming competitions

The next ASAWCA will be awarded in spring 2027, with applications opening in spring 2026.

The winning contribution will be published by Gehrmans Musikförlag AB, and the winner receives a prize sum and a diploma. For other excellent contributions, second and third prizes may be awarded.

All entries must adhere to the following criteria:
• Must be unpublished and not previously performed
• Must be written for a mixed voice a cappella choir with 4–12 parts
• Must be 6–9 minutes long in total
• Can be in any language
• Can be written by any woman composer,  irrespective of nationality, age, or profession
